INTRODUCTION

Disney’s Hercules is a film of many faces. It is both wholly unique in the context of this course (on account of it being, by far, the most distinctive film we’ve watched) and in its place in many of our childhoods. It’s also unique by the inner conflict I feel about it; while conceptually, Hercules is a masterwork of Disney animated musicals, there’s one big thing about the film that holds it back from me.
